How was I able to survive 20 episodes is beyond me. It’s either I’m too bored I got nothing else to watch or I just like the actors too much I couldn’t care less about the story. This drama is just gah….how will I say it?
Winner in cinematography.

But sheesh, with a terrible plot.
Looks like they’ve invested too much in planning for the sceneries and editing and inserting musical background that the creators of the show forgot to make a story. If I am to sum up the entire drama, it’s Martyrdom at its best. The premise: Boy meets girl. Boy and girl fell in love. Both became noble idiots. Boy loses girl. Ill-fated couple had their own separate family. Boy now becomes a father of a boy. Girl now becomes a mother of a girl. Their respective sons and daughter met. Both fell in love. Cue Conflict: Will the children keep their love together or will they have the same fate as their parents? Or maybe Parents will have a second shot on love?
Wow, I made a story! And it ran for 20 episodes!
Haha. Don’t get me wrong. I have to admit that despite a whole bunch of obvious flaws for this drama, Love Rain had this inexplicable hold on me. Must be the youthful vibe it projects. But mostly because just recently, I’ve been a convert. An SNSD Girls Generation convert. LOL. And yup, Yoon Ah is one of my favorite. (Again, I won’t deny that I am cheap like that).
Yoona-ssi just makes everything better…makes it tolerable to watch. LOL.
Although of course Jang Geun Suk is also not bad. Though until now I still can’t separate him as Tae Kyung from He’s Beautiful which is a bad thing I suppose.
There are some scenes that are really good. I especially like this scene:
But this is probably the only scene that the show’s story really got across to me. Others seemed to just simply pass by. Or if not, as slow as snail.
Love Rain. A show that started with a lot of promise cause of its popular young cast and director unfortunately did not deliver and doesn’t have a lasting impression. It could have been so much better and I wished that it’s even just a good drama. But who knows, maybe there are some people who turned out that this show is their cup of tea. And looking at the bright side, at least we got a few good songs to add in our playlist.
And of course, fan service courtesy of Yoona-ssi.
I hope she’ll make a drama with Lee Seunggi-oppa.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Now that’s a show I will watch no matter what the story is. XDTweet
